  1. Joint projects with other societies at academic meetings
  2. We conduct various activities in cooperation with the Japan Respiratory Society, Japanese Respiratory Foundation, Social Insurance Union of Societies Related to Internal Medicine, Tobacco Control Research Network, Japan Respiratory Disease Patient Group Association, and GOLD Japan Committee, etc.

Certification

From April 2013, we initiated a certification system for what we call "respiratory care educators," who support local activities. The basic criterion to be certified is to be an active member of the society for three consecutive years.

Professions of the members

Members are individuals from a variety of medical professions, including doctors, dentists, nurses, public health nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical engineering technologists, medical technologists, (registered) dietitians, pharmacists, speech-language therapists, and other related medical practitioners and researchers.

Characteristics of the society

First, we are focused on educating and practicing medical care as a team while clarifying the roles of various professions working in respiratory care as professionals. We continue to provide technical information on how to use equipment in situations such as specialized and advanced emergency lifesaving and artificial ventilation.
Second, we are pursuing academics in new themes related to respiratory care. Our hope is to spread rational, high-quality respiratory care based on science across Japan. Here, we have also been discussing the current state of new medical ethics.
Third, we are also striving to train beginners and provide continuing education so that this kind of practical information can be widely shared among professionals.

The purpose of this society is to pass on the constant efforts of all medical practitioners involved in respiratory care to sick individuals and bear fruit. We also believe that the society plays a social role such as by raising awareness. The activities of this society provide a place for mutual interaction among multidisciplinary members who are practicing respiratory care and we are confident that this will give us new inspiration and the ability to contribute to the medical field.
